Modern Government Offices


As per the government of Kerala rules it is set up an engineering service exclusively for the urban and rural local bodies in the state on 1st january 2008. While considering the scenario in an urban city office it is seen that the majority of the files are through the technical wing (engineering department of municipality) like public works of the municipality , issuing building permits , all jobs that related with engineering , complaints related to engineering from the public etc..(almost 80 % of the complaints required engineer's reports). Naturally there will be a tendency in the engineering staff to use the advantages of information technology and such mediums. But unfortunately it is not like that. Majority of the government servants not using computer or internet regularly. It should be changed. The public servants should change their attitude and make professional approach to the job. By such improvements we can reduce the awful "red tapism" in the public service.
The Government and trade unions should comeforward to make the change by changing the attitude of public servants, upgrading the infrastructure facilities of using modern technologies and giving necessary training. Hope that will happen in very near future.
